Very helpful. Very comprehensive and easy to follow. Anyone getting these procedures should watch this before and after surgery. Got two implants yesterday and a front tooth crown build-up. Sutures on all three. Lucky waking up with no pain, no swelling, little to no bleeding, and no discoloring. Thanks for making and sharing this video.

I have learned more from you, Dr. Thousand, than my own oral surgeon & my dentist!

I had a dental implant done last year. I had no pain, no swelling, very little bleeding. My doctor told me I could resume my normal activities the next day. I was drinking coffee and eating hot foods the next day. I was exercising a few days after. I went back after 3 months and my doctor said everything looked good and I got my crown about 2 weeks later. I think being healthy really helped with the healing and not having problems with my implant.

I had an implant done then for some reason my body rejected the implant (I don't know the medical terms to explain this) in short it had to be taken out and then the whole process had to be repeated. The dentist did not charge me for the second process. I had the base of the implant put then had to wait six months for the bone to fuse with the implant, then he put the crown however after a month the left side of my face became sore and swollen. I had to be on antibiotics and pain meds then when the swelling went down, he rechecked the area and that's when when he informed me, he will have to take it out. I nearly wept because the process is debilitating. So we had to schedule in a week then he took it out cleaned the area then put the base of the implant. He gave me most of these instructions and I stayed with it for one year while still going back for multiple reviews. After a year, he checked, and rechecked and double checked to ensure that my bone had infused with the implant and there was no pain, discomfort or any felt pressure when he touched the surrounding gum area. I then did bitewings (I call it x-ray for teeth 😂) for him to Countercheck the implant and bone infusion. When he was satisfied, three months later he put the crown and I am happy to report that it is not 14years of bliss that I at times forget that I have an implant. I don't know the medical terms to explain these whole story so I just explained it as best as I can. For sure, the process is not easy however, my dentist gave me very effective pain medications as well as antibiotics that really helped. I also, religiously followed all the instructions he gave me to ensure that the dental implant is not "rejected" a second time. Thank you for taking the time to read through my long essay of a text. Lots of love and appreciation from Nairobi, Kenya 🇰🇪

Dr. John performed an extraction and bone graph on a back molar of mine. He and his staff were so great! The pain was minimal and he had such a gentle touch - adding with every advisory of what to expect to a tee. I will be going back again. I can't recommend this office enough!

This is a wonderful video, but I now realize it's for those who have only 1 or a few implants at a time.
I wish this wonderful dentist had a video on recovery and eating and cleaning after a full arch of implants.

Great Job Doctor! I wish I would have found this video on the day of my surgery. I wasn't given much instruction at all!

Very helpful and detailed. I didn't get any of this info from my surgeon so thank you. I'll be getting my implant tomorrow after the 6 month wait after bone graft.

This is pretty much in line with the care instructions I received with a few exceptions. I was told nothing hot for 48 hours, jello pudding the day of, creamy/soft stuff the second day, normal food the third day, but nothing that required crunching or grinding of food for a week. I was also told not to smoke or drink through a straw for a week but there was no mention of carbonated drink or exercise restrictions.

Thanks for the video and sharing this type of knowledge. I just got the all on 6 uppers and I’m on week 2 post op. I had 20+ teeth extracted and I’ve learned so much from you than my own dentist who performed the surgery.

Keep it up! I’m learning a lot during this dental journey that I’m own.

Of crap I just had gargled and spat 😭 I didn't get an aftercare sheet that said these. Thank you Doctor! Hopefully I will feel good and my implant does good 🤞
Update (2/3 weeks later): my implant has healed really good the first week and I made sure I did mostly liquid diet/bland foods, no straw, no smoking. Now I'm waiting for my 3 month appointment, to see the healing, I keep chewing on the other side of the jaw.
Good luck to everyone getting a new implant, I'm sure you'll heal and do great 👍
