Yes Ireland is wealthy compared to many other countries by a purely GDP basis, but you have got too take into consideration that its recent wealth and not hundreds of years off accumulated wealth like other European nations so there is a lot off catch up when it comes to infrastructure etc..Also as Ireland is a European base for many US tech companies which employ tens of thousands of employees with hundreds off billions of investment{ more than all the BRICS countries put together} it does prehaps pump up the GDP unnaturally. .Exports hit $450bn in 2021 which is goods and services and pretty impressive m for a population off 5 million.

Kinda weird comparing states to europeans cities and microstates. Cities will always have a much higher gdp per capita.

This would be fun if we had Switzerland, but then I saw it was just EU members

From 1960 onwards, only London from the UK has a GDP per Capita to be sufficient to be on the list. Just goes to show how unequal the UK's economy is. Levelling Up is needed more than ever to stem the decades old North/South divide.

Thanks fkr the video. Interesting as usual. One question: what's the name of the song in the background?
