For those who don’t know:Jennie always wore the ribbon and when she and Alfred got married ofc she didn’t wanna tell or show him right now because she didn’t want a Alfred to get shocked about it or he might prank her to loose her head.So the reason why she told him when she was dying was because if she took of the ribbon she would die anyway because her head was never stable

So basically she never untied it and she can change it to any color BUT ONLY IN PRIVATE and at the end she untied it and her head fell, it was bc the ribbon was actually her neck so if she unties it her head loses balance so it falls
