The undisputed King of Dials is Rolex. No other brand even comes close to them. In this video I will go over the vast dial options that Rolex has, they range anywhere from exotic stones to error dials and even faded dials. My personal favorite are the stone dials.

I was born in the 60s and I remember that when someone started making a lot of money, to show that they had succeeded, they bought a Rolex and it would be a yellow gold Daydate or Datejust. The bottom would be in one of the colors blue, red or green. It was Rolex that mattered and there was no point in choosing another exclusive brand that could be more expensive, so it was that nobody believed in the person, but Rolex it was proof that you had succeeded. Remember all those advertisements in the newspapers with these Rolex watches and if you interviewed a businessman, he made sure that his Rolex was synthetic. Business magazines or other magazines with successful men, the Rolex watch was always in the picture. So this very thing with all the pictures with yellow gold Rolex, has influenced me that I just think that these gold watches are the most beautiful. Over 40 years of Rolex, you are affected.

I was fortunate enough to have my AD offer me the YM42 with Falcon Eye. I’m not sure I’m too keen on it but bought it with this exactly in mind.

Great dial options but pointless when you can not purchase one. I went to an AD today and was told I need an appointment just to try on the display models. That is crazy! Rolex watches used to be aspirational now it is for those who want to pay way over retail or a celebrity.

I’ve got a rose gold presi with the waves dial, 36mm. Eric, the local Orlando Mayor’s AD wouldn’t put it in, but they did in Amsterdam at Rolex in Dam Square. I was there on business and it worked out. They did it in 3 days.
