Der Geher in Hamburg: Langenhorn North

Показать описание
I am Der Geher and today I walk through the north of Langenhorn. From the Ochsenzoll subway station, I pass some commerce and enter an area with residential buildings and stores. And across the 10th degree of longitude. Along Henry-Schütz-Allee a former chapel is passed. After the water tower more housing follows and then the Kiwittsmoor. Via a small square at Holitzberg the path ends at the former SS barracks.

Already in prehistoric times people lived here, first finds are from the end of the Vistula cold period about 13,000 years ago. From later times, a dwelling and several burial mounds have been found, but much of this has been removed or lost over time. Individual artifacts can be seen in the Archaeological Museum of Hamburg.

I really like Kiwitsmoor, it reminds me of western Hamburg and places near where I grew up!
