Searching for Elusive BIG Brown Trout on the Tenkara Rod!

Big browns don't come easy! In this small creek, I searched far and wide for some of the big browns that are known to inhabit the creek. I spooked one 20 inch plus fish, and ended up catching some a bit smaller than that. I'll be back when all the big boys are feeding heavily, but for now, I consider this trip a success.

I used my Daiwa Keiryu-X 45 fixed line rod with a really light level line. Most of the fish came on jigged streamers.

The question you asked about how much we really know about fly fishing.... That hit the nail on the head for me. We are all experts in our own heads but really I think alot is just guessing 😁

Been Tenkara and Keiyru fishing the last 12 years. a word of advice which you probably figured out. Approach and shadow with a long road is the most important part of setting up on a spot. Always make sure your rod isn't waving around out in front of you in the section you are fishing. You may be low to the water but your rod is always out further. Work smaller area's with only the line working at an angle the fish won't notice. Love your video and commentary. Keep it up.

You're not wrong about Walt's Worms working pretty much all the time. I also share your frustration with dry dropper, but I really want to love it.

Great vid as always and I too like doing the recap at the end. Obviously, I'm a fan of that format :D

Great video, and some beautiful fish! I can't remember if you've done this type of monologue thing to end any of your other videos, but I liked it!

That last hole with the big log looked very much like where I fished yesterday up in Wyoming off of hwy 230. A creek that goes from a reservoir to a major river. Had fun but the beaver ponds produced better. Thanks for the video, nice work.
