The Greco Turkish War 1919–1922

In May 1919, Greek forces landed in Smyrna (modern-day İzmir), beginning their campaign to occupy parts of Western Anatolia.
Greek troops quickly advanced inland, capturing major cities like Aydın, Manisa, and Afyonkarahisar.
The Greek military aimed to seize Ankara, the heart of the Turkish Nationalist resistance.
