What happens if you interrupt a Windows install?

In this video I will be showing you what happens when a Windows install is interrupted, whether due to a reset or a system crash. In all versions after Windows XP, it would require a complete reinstall.

I remember when my teacher (not from school, from the study center or study office or whatev you wanna call it) was finishing her shift, and the pc there had a update...it was taking too long so she shutdown the pc mid-install. Next day, i went there, and boom, once she logged in, the pc was just a big black void. We tried trobuleshooting, but nothing happend, and, luckily, we had someone working there that had studied programming brefore. She somehow managed to re-install it, even if it took the whole night.

Vista and 7 where interrupted during their main installation sequence. XP and before where basically interrupted in their out of box experience stage.

Although tbf Vista and 7 moved a lot of things into the installation stage instead of the out of box experience stage.

8 and onwards where interrupted during thier initialisation stage and in my opinion should have probably behaved like XP and 2000

Windows xp and older only have restarted the installation. Which saves time. But Windows Vista and Newer. Ah it's a Pain because you need to reinstall it. If you are a ssd user. It may Shorten it's lifetime. So that's why it's better not to interrupt it

in windows vista, 7, 8.1, 10, 11 you have to restart and give you the error you have to press shift and f10 to call the command pront and write regedit and you change some folders, ie some keys

What about Vista and up during actual image deployment? Those versions actually store all the OS install files in install.wim or install.esd in the sources folder, and then deploys it to the target drive. I wonder, if you killed it halfway during deployment, what would happen?

The Windows 10 error was happened too when you unplug the installation USB or eject the installation DVD. I know that when I reinstalling Windows 10 on my laptop, then after a reboot. I think it just like Windows 7, just remove the installation media. But, that error was happened after that reboot.

Fun fact whenever you fail an install on millennium edition or Vista it gains more functionality by not having an operating system at all
