Let me show you my DIY synthesizer case! It contains 2x 118hp of Eurorack Modular Synth modules (with Doepfer A-100 DIY Kit power), a CV utility panel, an Arturia MicroBrute and a Behringer MicroMix MX400 mixer - as well as other stuff sometimes, like a Korg Volca Beats, guitar pedals or an iPad :)

Woody! this is great, I'm into DIY guitar pedals but predrilled cases are expensive and not always perfect for my needs. so I thought about building my pedals in a way that I can just patch them together eurorack style, after some searching I found this and it's great. you have given me some more ideas and I'm pretty much sould on building my own case to fit all of my gear, thank you!

Nice! I'll be building my own soon so I was looking for ideas. I think the DIY utilities are nice too. I watch your videos often so please keep up the good work :)

Brilliant! DIY case is the best!
I made a case for my synth and pedals too (although it's not for modular ..)
but I would really love to built one later!

I have already built my own custom desk with two rack towers on either end where I stack all my sound modules. Under the desk is a long power strip and between the 2 rack towers is where I have my PC, Music keyboard, and mixer. I haven't tried to build anything so compact and portable as this. But I'll take some tips from your design. I never even thought about doing a video of how I built and arranged my home studio. But this inspires me to make one.

Nice work! I've just ordered the diy-kit myself, so I can complete my IKEA-rack and start building modules. The Quintet sorely needs a modular!

I have a Gray Aluminum and Plastic Technician's case (Deep Top and Bottom) for sale. I was going to turn it into a synth case for Behringer Semi-Modulars but decided to build a studio desk case. It just needs the rails. Has locking latches and keys.

Great job.... woody!! ...Would be really interesting in building a similar utility panel. Do you have a tutorial / pictures of how you went about building yours? Cheers

I find the 'utility panel" interesting.
I have a similar plan for the case I'm planing to build.
I got 2 sets of 86hp rails.
i plan to have a 19" 1u blanking panel between the sets of rails and populate it with utilities such as your panel.

Being only attached with 4 screws, taking it out and adding features as i need them is no issue, or replacing it should i need it.
19" blanking panels are also quite cheap.

I get multiples and attenuators, but what other utilities should i consider, and how many of each?

Great cabinet.

Hardest thing you'd ever have to do: Finding this at a bus station AND RETURNING IT. :)

I know this is an old vid so I'm not sure if you have fitted the legs to stabilise it when it's open, but some fender amps have strong metal legs so you can tilt the amp back. They would do the job nicely. Just a thought. Awesome build though mate. Cheers from Australia.

How many voices is it? Can I add more voices? Can I use a larger keyboard?

a really great personal solution! Well done!
Also read your funny blog article :-)

Nice functional case! There used to be drop-down steel legs that would work for that, but eeks, who made them? That was a long time ago I put some on a combo amp; but you could easily make your own! How many VCO modules do you have in this kit?

I like the layout and the portable case. How much do you think is invested in everything all together? Just curious to have some idea in case I try to plan to build something similar. It would be cool to include a theremin with the rack. Oh maybe you answer all these questions at the link you provided.
