Hi. In this video we look at high lift devices installed on an aircraft wing. We focus on 2 high lift devices: Flaps and Slats. We see the operation of these devices in different configurations and the impact of these configurations on an aircraft.
We also look at the biggest concern when flying at low speeds: Stall. We see the variation of lift with the angle of attack and the variation of Stall Angle when flaps and slats are used.

Thank You!

3:13 False. Extended flaps usually makes lower critical AOA (stall at lower AOA).

Are slats in every commercial aircraft?

Thanks for your awesome video!
Compared with the trailing edge flap up configuration the maximum Angle of attack for the flaps down configuration is SMALLER! ❤

Awesome video. What software do you use for animations?

Flaps and slats trick the wind into thinking you have bigger wings. :D
