2005 vs The 2024 Hello Kitty Squier

We jumped on the Youtube bandwagon and did a Hello Kitty Guitar review. We compare the 2005 first edition Hello Kitty Stratocaster Guitar to the new 2024 Hello Kitty Reissue Stratocaster. We go over the differences between the two versions and then compare how they all sound against a vintage hardtail strat we have in the shop.

Reasons new one better: 1. headstock 2. tuners. 3. nut width . Reasons old one better: 1. pink bow and dots 2. logo and control cavity on back look better 3. it's the original and soon-ish to be vintage HK strat 4. i have the old one. IMHO having the pickup mounted to the body is good, it takes 34.7 seconds to remove pickguard so no issue and you only have to adjust once! Did a swimming pool route for further weight reduction, PLEK'd it (machine said approx 12" radius on mine), now sporting a half pink BK Mule. love it. Am interested in the new white one too might grab it, looks fresh.

Hi. I just discovered your page. Very enjoyable. Re: the Hello Kitty guitars, you didn't mention that the new one doesn't have a skunk stripe on the back of the neck. Therefore the maple fingerboard must be a laminated board. The older one has it.

Have you tried to see if a 9V battery can fit in the 2024 model? Im wondering if ill be able to put an EMG 81 in mine thats coming in the mail

You never mentioned the body thickness on each guitar... looks like the 05 is thinner than the 2024 one... probably the weight difference?

I put a BareKnuckle HolyDriver in my 2024 and it sounds amazing!!

The pickup adjustment on the original is under the pick guard, you have to remove it to adjust. Very fun lol.

This was a really cool demo video, thanks for posting this!! I have the original (bought it in a sanrio store in 2005). I've been wanting to try the newer version to see how it compares, but I haven't found any store that has the new one in stock.

7:25 WTF??? The 2024's tuner is definitely more expensive than the old one and much better looking! The white nobs are used to match the white headstock logo, not for some cost-cutting bullshits. The old one looks much cheaper than the new one all around.

You are SO wrong on the tuners! Who ships plastic tuners? I mean really? You think Fender is going to put plastic tuners on a $500 guitar? 🤡 They are the universally-hailed same vintage (Kluson) style tuners that are used on the Classic Vibes, but with white plastic knobs, just like they used to have on their Mustangs. They are FAR, FAR superior to the crappy tuners that came with the original model! I mean ask ANYONE who knows the Squier brand. You really have no clue at all.

I have the original version in black. It's a much better guitar than it has any right to be. I believe the one I have has a ceramic pickup. I've used it many times when recording guitar solos. Very minimal hum and pretty high output.

These guitars are way over priced and there is no justification for it either. Mainly because I feel like these are more aimed at children, beginners, and/or collectors. I’m not sure which one is better, but I like the one with the oversized headstock. It just looks cooler 😎!! If I had to choose one it would be that one. Thanks 4 sharing bro. Well yeah so the 63 sounds the best . 2024 aint that great . The 05 is the clear winner neck tuners and cavaity space makes it better . I thought the pickup was tamer but 24 was to snarky :-) . Yet another great video too Al. How about one a week . Maybe do the same thing pick 2 simlar types and give us some knowledge .
How to spot a fake would be a great video .
