Thanks for the ride along. I to, ride in big city traffic, eyes wide open! I love it when people slowly cross over into your lane without signaling. When I told my son I was getting a bike, the first thing he said was "those things are dangerous, right?" He didn't know that I rode many years before he was born. I have over 8, 000 miles this year. Thank you for the ride Fran . I had not been back to Philly since 1967. I saw parts of Philly I had never seen before as in 67 all I saw was the Liberty bell, and a museum all close to the train that I took in from Wallingford in the Burbs.

My mother's family is from Philadelphia. I loved going to visit. When I was child I looked forward to visiting my grandparents and my uncles and aunts. In the summer they rented a beach house on an island off New Jersey call Ship Bottom. This was back in the 1950's and we had a great time there. In the 1970's I was in the Navy and I used to ride my Moto Guzzi down from Rode Island to visit my Uncle and Aunt. They lived just off from Roosevelt Blvd across the street from the IRS building. My Uncle would buy some beer and we'd talk until early morning about everything. I have great memories from those times. Thank you for the tour.

You're a very smooth and competent motorcyclist! Loved the run around town. I lived in W. Philly (47th and Springfield) for six years and always loved the architecture.

At least everything isn't covered in snow! Was at a lumber yard the other day and saw Mr Santa all dressed in red on a Harley navigating the roads that recently been snowed on.

Very fascinating how similar Philladelphia and NYC are in terms of what the environs look like. I've watched a few of Louis Rossmann's bike rides. This ride was very much in the same vein as his. Thanks for having me along for the ride. It has made my rather rough day a little bit better. :-)

I had an 03 Shadow Ace. I sure miss it after seeing yours. I pretty sure it's begging for a ticket to park in the grass in the middle berm.

I was just in Philly the weekend of the 20th. My first time there. Visited the Mütter and Penn museums, record shopping at Long In The Tooth, ate a bunch of good food. Definitely looking forward to vacationing in Philly again some time. It seems like a really cool town.

Sweet Philly ride Fran, thanks for sharing. Just imagine...Jefferson, Franklin, & Balboa all walked those streets. I like watching helmet cam rides thru cities, if you speed this up to 2 it's like a video game. I hate actually riding in the cities now, with all of the stop & go congestion, I prefer the open road whenever possible. Ride safe & let freedom ring!
