Elisa is just a class act. Took full responsibility for the refusal and still praised her horse. Many could take that lesson. Great job 👏🏻

This was an ENORMOUS accomplishment. I watched the LiveStream. Only 22 completed the course. 18 retired or were eliminated. And these were some of the the best horse/rider combinations in the world. P.S. The commentators during the dressage thought Lee was scored a point or two low.

I just love your attitude toward your horses. You appreciate them and are kind to them so they try super hard for you. It's so nice to see a pat instead of a whip for a refusal and words of reassurance. He really did his best for you. Those jumps were scary!

Also, I know you weren't thrilled with the ride at the bank, but THANK YOU for giving him his head and letting him truly see it for what it was, rather than getting nervous about it and catching him in the face for it. He will figure it out for you if he trusts you enough to not punish him for it now. You rode well.

I really like how to said sorry to your horse after the weird bump into the fence
and how you always tell him good boy

Lee tried so hard on a tough course in tough conditions. He's such a brave boy. Glad you came through alright. Heard some big names didn't finish.

Lee didn't even look like he " refused" just too fast and bumped the jump.

To think I watched Johnny on the same course in Kentucky and now it’s Lee makes me so proud. You did absolutely amazing, and you never blamed him once, you’re an amazing rider and you inspire so many. Keep up the absolutely fantastic work!

Lee has totally stepped up his game recently! What a legend! I love how he's almost becoming your new Johnny :)

I was jump judging fence 4AB. So proud of how you and Lee handled the truly adverse conditions. You made absolutely the right decision to stop Riot at fence 4A after he hooked his front leg over one of the logs and refused two attempts. I don’t know if he misread it, slipped, or what happened initially, but we had several bad falls at 4B, and if you did not get a good jump in at 4A, you would’ve definitely had trouble at 4B and possibly would have gotten hurt. Several riders fell hard at 4B. So, from my perspective, it was an excellent decision to withdraw Riot at that point and try again another day before his confidence was shattered and possibly your leg!

In all my years of jump judging at various three-day events and horse trials, I think these weather conditions were either the worst or tied with Rolex 2015 for the worst I have ever seen.

By the end of the day, the volunteers were soaked to the skin and shivering with cold, which is nothing compared to what you must have felt. I have the upmost respect for you for performing under these conditions and doing it well.

I liked watching this. Very good rider and I like the fact she didn't punish him for her mistake and his slipping. She took him back around and let him go through safely to build his confidence. And she's talking to and encouraging him when he needs it. She treats him like a team mate, not a tool. Love that. Even after the ride I like how she talks. They will be a great team.

When I write scenes for horse novels that involve a cross country course, I go back and watch these videos to see what a course of the appropriate level looks like. Gives me a better written course and it's fun to watch the video and write along.
I love Lee. He's so amazing.

I remember as a little kid I would sit on an exercise ball and watch your behind the ears videos. I would pretend I was riding, going into jumping position and pretending to praise my "horse"!

Beautiful riding too
👏👏👏👏👏

Lee was so good! It was a shame about riot and that triple bar. So many falls and refusals today I think you made the right choice! Can’t wait to see Lee tomorrow!
