I'm a smoker and I hate myself for starting smoking! I wanna quit so bad! And I will eventually, I'll keep relapsing but I won't give up.

It’s not “fat people”. It’s fat woman. Woman still judge fat men and any store that has plus size modals and manikins only has them for woman, not men. I myself am very skinny but it’s a shame to watch the double standard and the normalization of being unhealthy

There is no need to shame any addict. It is an addiction after all.

For all of y’all that are saying you wanna quit smoking, I got the audiobook Allen Carr’s Easy Way to quit smoking. I listened to it like 3 times back to back while I was quitting. It worked for me I haven’t smoked in a couple months. I can’t guarantee it works for you but it’s worth a try.

Shaming depresses people and pushes them to their vices… including food. (Speaking as a very fat person. If I’m happy and feeling positive about myself, I exercise more and make better food choices. If I’m depressed about anything… or hating on myself, I have a tendency to want to gorge myself. Doesn’t mean I always do, but I want to. If people leave me alone about my weight, I do better).

He actually answered the question in the clip. “We don’t need you to tell us.” Treat people with respect and let them ask you if they want help.

The hard part about food addiction is its also the only addiction where the thing is necessary. We have to eat food to survive (granted, we don't have to eat so much or eat unhealthy foods, but the part that makes it difficult is its easily accessible and necessary) whereas cigarettes aren't necessary to breath and all that

When I was still smoking, I'd hate myself everytime I'd light up. I hated the smell, hated the taste and I hated the bad breath and yellow teeth. 3 years clean and I'll never look back!

We shouldn’t shame any of them. Everyone knows their addiction is bad, they don’t need their struggles to be pointed out and rubbed in. The will to put in the work to heal needs to come from inside - and we, as a society, need to be prepared to give people support when they’re finally ready to help themselves

I'm a trucker, I've smoked for 16 years. I have just now over the past 3 weeks been able to not have a cig till I get home. And I still hate that I only smoke a few a week...

As a Fat Basta, please keep pushing us to make ourselves healthy. It is a super unhealthy habit that should be shamed

many people that are overweight feel a lot of shame, and I don’t think we should ever shame anybody for addiction. just offer help and tell someone they look good today

It all depends on how a person responds to shaming it either drives them to kill themselves by doing more than they have ever done of that thing that we shame them for then they've ever done or it opens their mind and they never ever do that again shaming is a gamble that should not be practiced
