Turning Red features the best voice talent around, from seasoned actors to popular singers, to performers totally new to the business! Who brought the heart and soul to these character voices? We’ve got the scoop on who the actors are and where they came from - along with some clips of them in action, doing what they do best in the booth.
Rosalie Chiang may be young - but she was even younger when she got this job and started the process. The actress is as inexperienced as they come, ‘Turning Red’ being the first feature film she’s ever performed in. Not a bad first gig! She got the delight of working with a seasoned and beloved veteran- the one and only Sandra Oh. One spunky actor made sure their presence was known - something anyone who’s watched ‘Never Have I Ever’ would be familiar with. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan brings her energy to one of Mei’s best friends. Ava Morris is a real-life teenager- no wonder she’s a pro at playing a teen on screen. Hyein Park is new to acting - this being her very first role - but the performer has had a longstanding relationship with Pixar in a completely different department!
Anne-Marie, the UK singer-songwriter wasn’t feeling as comfortable as she usually does in the booth - but she made it through and managed to bring some solid work to the table. Ever heard of actress and comedian Sherry Cola? If not -after hearing her performance in this, you won’t forget her!

How could you guys miss talking about James Hong!! This incredible actor has been around for many years and voiced many awesome characters! His role as Chi-fu in Mulan is hilarious! As the old priest in Turning Red, his voice was perfect.

I love this movie. All the characters were incredibly charming. The animation was spectacular. I really enjoy the new Pixar look, with the goofy smiles and huge teeth. This is such a wonderful coming of age with strong family and friendship values. All the relationships were genuine and complex. The biggest villains in this film acted out of love, which was wonderful to see explored.
