NETGEAR AC750 EX3700: WiFi AP(Access Point) Mode Setup & Configuration

Netgear extender setup support helps you understand how to Setup & Configuration Netgear Extender as WiFi AP(Access Point) Mode | NETGEAR AC750 EX3700

Access point (AP) mode enables your router to function as a gateway for wireless devices to connect to. In AP mode, your NETGEAR router extends your existing WiFi instead of creating a new WiFi network. For more information, see What is the difference between router mode and AP mode?.
Note: Router features like DHCP and port forwarding are disabled while in AP mode. For more information, see Disabled Features on the Router when set to AP Mode.

To change your NETGEAR router to AP mode after setting it up:
Step 1:- Using an Ethernet cable, connect the Ethernet port of a computer to one of the LAN ports on your NETGEAR router.

Step 5:- Enter your user name and password.
Note: The default user name is admin. The default password is password.
Step 6:- The BASIC page displays.
Step 7:- Select the ADVANCED tab.
Step 8:- Click Advanced Setup Then GO to next Step Wireless Settings.
Step 9:- Scroll down to the AP Mode section and select Enable AP Mode.
Step 10:- The Get IP Address Dynamically and Get DNS Server Address Dynamically options are configured automatically by default. To manually assign an IP address to your router, contact your ISP for the IP information.
Note: We recommend that you assign a static IP address to your NETGEAR router (AP) so that your its IP address does not change. For more information, see How do I enter a static IP address on a NETGEAR router?.

Step 11:- Click Apply.
Step 12:- You lose the Internet connection between your router (now configured as an AP) and your computer.
Step 13:- Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to one of the WAN or LAN ports of your NETGEAR router, and connect the other end to a LAN port on your main (ISP) router.
Step 14:- Your NETGEAR router is in AP mode.

To log in to your AP:

Step 15:- Connect your computer to your home network.
Step 16:- Launch a web browser and enter the IP address of your NETGEAR router.
Note: Enter the IP address that your ISP router assigned to your AP, or the IP address that you set manually in Step 6.
