California lawmakers introduce $400 gas rebate proposal

As gas prices continue to rise across the country, in the state, and right here in San Diego, California lawmakers want to give taxpayers some extra cash to the tune of $400 in what they’re calling a gas rebate.

Stupid and illogical proposal. Sure, you may get $400 from your state government but that rebate money has to be generated through taxes. You will be paying for that $400 rebate in the form of increased taxes so does this really help?

How about suspending the gas tax to help out people that use more than the average person because they use their vehicle for work or because they drive farther to get more affordable housing? A rebate? Why is the answer to create a MIDDLE MAN? Just make the gas a reasonable amount! Unless you're hearing about the rebate, no one is gonna cash that coupon in. Then I'm sure there is an expiration date, and its probably 5 days before you ever even heard of it.

Don't give Louisiana no rebates because it's because of governor John Bel Edwards our gas are high and he suing
