My TCL 55 inch 4 series 60Hz turns five years old next month. Problems free. Always plugged into a quality surge. That's a must, for any home electronic. I'm buying a bigger one, a 65 or 70 of the exact same one. And I'll tell you why. Whatever audio card these things have is fantastic for listening to anything connected via the HDMI inputs, and fed out through the optical connector. I have a two channel sound system, and my TV cable box, DVD/CD player, and Chrome Book plugged into my TV. Anything played on each, sounds so super great. I have the TV's speakers turned off.

I have 4 TCL TVs so my answer is yes they are good enough for most people.
