I’m a scrub tech and I judge doctors by how they handle emergency situations and if they are smart enough to ask other doctors for advice when they are unsure of something.

Yes, THANK YOU! Honesty is really a rare trait out here in the MIC anymore. On the other hand, "knowing everything" is running rampant.

Question: What can I ask, research, or do to make sure my NS is being honest, doesn't panic, and doesn't think they know everything? I'm medically very complex, very. And I haven't jumped for a shunt yet, despite my ICP being between 35-41 all the time, because 1. I'm terrified of shunts....ive seen them so wrong, causing infections, over draining, getting clogged, etc. 2. Because the NS working on this is unfamiliar with my genetic disorder, hEDS/vEDS, and I'm made up of faulty, fragile collagen. I don't feel like he is taking me as a whole person into account. How can I "vett" him without offending him?
