In my opinion it is mold, being in a place with black mold causes some horrible stuff, even death, you don’t even need to touch it it’s that strong, still water you can atleast avoid

The worst part is you can tell the water at the bottom of the stairs has been disturbed, almost as if someone walked into it thinking it was concrete

Things to know if ur going Urban Exploring:

-if you see dirty water that is very still and isnt moving at all, dont touch it or disturb it. Water becomes very still if it contains lots of bacteria. You could risk getting infections.

-Police, Dont enter restricted areas. If you have the balls, then go.

Still water is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria and amoebas, one of these amoebas is called Naegleri Fowleri, which is in simpler terms, a brain eating amoeba, it’s pretty rare still and it can only enter trough your deep sinus so you most likely won’t get it from just being in the water but there are still millions of different bacteria in the water that will definitely harm you one way or another, basically don’t swim in random still water
