10 SECRET AREAS You Shouldn't Miss in Open World Games

Some hidden areas in video games are really worth finding for cool surprises or beneficial secret rewards. Here are some of our favorites.

For the alien blaster, you can change the ammo type to energy cells at a workbench. It does slightly less damage, but if you don't have the AB ammo, it's you're only option to be able to use it.

The UFO from fallout 4 when I saw it was a total WTF moment. Then going to investigate, was really the coolest moment in the entire game imo. What a fun experience!

I spent so many hours in SOTC trying to climb the vines and moss on the tower to get to that garden.... never managed to make it :(

Far Cry 5 prepper stashes were probably the best and more creative parts of the game

There's another spot in Valhalla, if you go to the New World and speak to the tribesmen and women you'll find out pretty quick that this is the tribe that Connor comes from in AC3. If you enter the cave that the boss of the area is excavating, you'll actually find the wall that Haytham and Connor encounter in 3. If you have the Apple of Eden in your possession when you do this Eivor acknowledges that these two things have a connection, but that it isn't his place to do anything with them, and thus, leaves it for the people who do, Connor and Haytham.

I’ve always liked going straight to the viking tomb in RDR2 and collecting the viking helmet. I’d wear it the entire game even though it looked completely out of place and broke the serious tone of the main story, but I thought it was so cool that they added it.

You missed one important thing in the haunted house FC5: on the top floor, there's an ashtray with a newly lit and still burning cigarette 🚬, which means someone was there just a moment earlier, and I found it pretty creepy

I found the cave in Vahlalla by myself while exploring at the end of the game when I already had all the stone: I felt really accomplished

I still remember my first time reaching the garden in ps2 SOTC. Didn't take too long, just ate a bunch of white lizard tails to increase my stamina. Then I walked the whole bridge back to the beginning just to be blown back the wind gust.

In FF15 theres the secret dungeon of pitioss. No enemies just a platforming nightmare.
The only way to get there is to fly your car onto a the tiniest strip of a dirt road, walk through unmapped territory looking for a building that only opens at night.

Pretty fun dungeon though

You can actually craft up to 5 of the Pyza suits in Dying Light, and they actually stack so you can glide further.

Eventually I have to go back to Shadow of the Colossus to max out my health and stamina so I can make the climb and eat the forbidden fruit to Platinum the Game!

No idea why but shadow of the colossus is one of my all time favorites. I love that they keep remastering it. I mostly love to just speed run through it.

I actually found the world 1-1 secret level by accident, that was definitely one of the best gaming moments of my life and I still love Dying Light to this day!
