The Axial SCX24 is undeniably a fairly decent performer. The trouble is, if you are a fan of scale realism, the Jeep Wrangler body is a little bit lacking in detail. But actually there is now a huge variety of accessories available to help with this problem. I have taken a look at several of the most interesting ones in my new video. Bought one from my local hobby shop and I absolutely love it. Having a hard time deciding if this should be an indoor only truck or take it outside and get it dirty.

Losi did make a 1/10 th scale crawler that had worm gears . It acts like a full on drag brake .
I really like the SCX24. I think I want one for Christmas (wich is also my birthday) even if I have to gift it to myself. Great course for the little truck.

Either get some power hobby shocks or take your stock shocks, stretch the springs to double the length, add a dab of carmex or grease inside the shock shafts and put them back together. Works awesome. It can go down hill without the bumps no prob. It runs on worm gears. Brass wheel hubs are also a must for balance. I'm sure you've figured all this out by now though this video is a bit old lol

Great video guys! Dont have a crawler but this looks like so much fun! BTW on the steep inclines brush some white wood glue on the cardboard then sprinkle with something gritty like crushed stones (model railroad ballast), or even glue some sandpaper strips. I reckon you should cut the center out of the wobbly bridge so it has a gap long ways in the middle, will make it a cool challenge like the tubes :)

I just picked up the yellow version of this yesterday, love it! If i had a single criticism it would be, that off brand 1/18 scale blue pickup had proper lights front and back, axial and other companies need to step up and do it right rather then just cheap out and drop them in a bumper. Can you imagine this thing with proper head and taillights, i had seen people use 1/24 scale model car bodies on the deadbolt scx24, so that gets me thinking, get a model of this jeep and maybe its parts could be used to adapt a properly looking light kit for it. This things a desk crawler through and through. Your course was great, the valley of "random desk clutter" and scaling mount "randomly placed dog blanket" are great fun with it as well, course i have a golden retriever so the dog blanket is a bit larger then what you would have. And Abbey, Popeye was the hazard, "Popeye hazards" are something completely different, and likely smell


Oh, and if you have a 3d printer, look up 1/24 scale Micro Tractor Pull Sled on thingiverse, that could be super fun with these small scale crawlers, i found it while looking for light mounts

I just got the deadbolt and already ordered some stamped steel bead lock wheels and Goodyear wrangler mt tires... it will give it more weight low and more ground clearance...

Mount the bumper onto the frame, notch the bottom for servo arm clearance, lower the shocks onto the tower frame mount, and add brass dif covers and wheel rings and she's good to go.
