In this video I take you on a tour of the heartbeat of my home recording studio. My Guitar Rig!
My rig was designed to record real tube amplifiers using the DI method and adding virtual cabinets. The three main guitar amps that make up the rig are the Hughes & Kettner Grandmeister Deluxe 40, Marshall jcm 900 and the Revv G20. I utilize a Two Notes Torpedo Captor X as my main load box and DI and I have a ton of guitar pedals that I fly in as needed since I don't have a pedalboard anymore. Only problem - no matter how great we get things to sound - we always want it to be better - the never ending quest for the sound that will open the skies, stop time, and basically change the laws of physics. In reality we use only a few basic sounds for most everything and tweak those (at least I do). Thanks Dan for the tour.

Your idea of dismantling pedalboard is interesting. I also haven't played out in a while either and for the most part in my studio using tube amps and maybe a drive or boost pedal with my captor 8 into audio interface. Pedalboard takes up room on floor and isn't being used like it would when I was gigging. Like you I add other effects in DAW. Going to reconsider some stuff here...Thanks for the idea.

I'm looking to get into the game of finally recording my Amps direct instead of Microphones. Wondering what do you get for the price difference in the Captor X?
