Running the notorious Evinrude Ficht 200. It’s a 2001 with 850hrs on it. It came on a “new to me used” boat. Maintenance tip for these....clean out the water passage on the EMM with a small brush on a drill. It’s a common point of failure for overheated EMM units! Great content. Keep it coming.

Right here running a pair of 98 Yamaha Salt Water Serie II 250hp's. Best engines ever had and will have. I have a pair of freshly rebuilt power heads just sitting here waiting to be installed when the ones that are on need to be rebuild. Its just a matter of pulling off the old and throwing on the new. That way my boat is always ready to go. 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌.

I just bought a 1 owner 1984 Champion bass boat with a 200 Yamaha motor. This boat looks brand new inside and out. I took it out the first time the other day and it runs like a dream! Needless to say I want to keep it in top shape because I worry about finding parts. This video gave me some info I needed.

Just got my very first boat with a 1986 Yamaha 40ELJ. I've been on that boat with that engine before (my bro-in-law) but the whole package needs some love. Thanks to you, I feel so much more confident on servicing it myself :)

20 year old Yamaha 90 2 stroke here. Still running great and blows equivalent 4 strokes into the weeds.
Still love it!

Remember with 4 strokes they have 1 stroke to produce power and 3 to wear it out!

I worked fighter jets for 24 years and retired about 18 years ago. Just bought my first boat (1994 Model). No Wings! It has a Yamaha 150 Saltwater series engine on a 24 ft Hurricane Deck boat. I sit and look at it and have no idea what to do as far as engine maintenance! We did take it out over a 5 day period, ran it for a few hours and it seems to run great. But after watching some of your videos I think I need to learn more. Much more!

I have the same twin counter rotating 200 hpdi engines since new, 2006, on a 92 Grady Sailfish. Run great never had an issue. You didn’t do the filter in the VST tank, every year I do that one, the metal can filter you did in the video, I do every 2nd year. Just did the pump belt, but the old ones were fine. Also, the O2 sensor and its housing needs to be cleaned but I go several years before doing them. Plugs change every second year. Trim seals done this year. Lower unit fluid condition check every year, change it 2nd year.

This video reminded my of how much I miss my 1960's era, and 1970's era 2-stroke outboards.... they were so very easy to maintain compared to our 2014 Yamaha 300.... I miss the good old days! ☺

When I was buying boat looked for a four cycle 90 on an 18' aluminum. Found a year old floor model 21' boat with Yamaha 150 2 cycle for less money. Saved me a ton of money and I have been very pleased
