Service Tech Here: Do not just throw the pod in the dishwasher. Every dishwasher does a 5min pre-wash cycle. Rinses them off. Then it uses the soap pod. If you throw it in, it gets washed away in the first 5 min wash and the rest of the cycle is regular water. Meaning not cleaning properly. 0/10 Do Not Recommend

First mistake is using pods

Liquid disperses way better and that was told to me by the techs who istalled a dishwasher for me years ago...

And id avoid powders if you can too. Clumps up

Just use dishwasher cleaner every 30 days and be done

Nope. Wrong. The first cycle at the beginning is only 10-15 min long. Then it drains the water. If you throw it in, then your pod’s used up and you don’t have anything washing your dishes for the rest of the cycle. Put it in the place where it goes. Then put a bit of powered dishwasher detergent on the top where it is “pre wash”.

The end.

This doesn't work lol. The reason there is a door that you close it in is because the washer does a rinse cycle first then empties the water. Then the door is opened and new water is put in to wash. Also you should run your sink on hot water when starting the dishwasher to make sure the rinse cycle gets warm / hot water.

As a maintenance technician for 20 years I can say with the utmost confidence that pods should have never been invented in the first place. Even if you throw them in the tub itself, there's no guarantee that the 100% dissolve that can become a clump of burnt plastic that can get clogged in your dishwasher's drain, causing it to overflow and leak. And with that regard, calling it a dishwasher is also just a marketing ploy it doesn't wash your dishes. It's sanitizes them if people weren't lazy and would just wash their dishes by hand before they put them in the dishwasher. The longevity of the dishwasher would increase dramatically. It's also wise to at least run your dishwasher by itself with no dishes with some bleach or vinegar every 5 to 6 uses to make sure that you get all the blackness cleared from your drain hose.

This is ridiculous. Who in the hell would think that this works better if they knew how a dishwasher worked? Dishwashers have a detergent dispenser for a reason so that the detergent and rinse aid are released at specific times of the cycle which is very important. Most dishwashers run a pre rinse, so after the pre rinse is over and it drains and refills it will then pop open the cup releasing the detergent for the main wash where it will begin using its heating element to raise the wash temperature as it cleans the dishes with the detergent over a longer period of time. It would be so wasteful to dump the detergent right in when the machine is gonna do a pre rinse unless it’s on a one hour wash or light wash to where you know for sure it doesn’t pre rinse but even then it’s still gonna release it on its own. It’s also a good idea to add pre rinse detergent

The door compartment is time released. Definitely put them in the door as with any other type of detergent. Unless you want your pod dissolving right away without cleaning anything. 😂

Mr Repairman has been drinking. I sold 1000;s of dishwashers. That is the equivalent of pouring soap on your car to wash it and rinsing it off without scrubbing. Dishwashers RINSE 1ST then wash. SMH

My manual says not to throw the pod in the bottom it just goes down the drain and doesn't wash your dishes.

No! Put it in the flatware caddy! Place it in the section that has the most flatware. It serves as a prewash and has enough leftover to wash in the main cycle. This method also makes sure you don't get detergent residue on your dishes, glasses, and flatware.

This person does not know that the little door pops open when the dishwasher is ready for soap.

Y'all don't listen to this video! Dishwashers do a pre wash some units do 2 so throwing your soap out at the bottom of the dishwasher the soaps going to get dissolved there in the pre-wash then it's no soap left for for the wash cycles that's why the door or the dispenser doesn't open at the very beginning of the washing cycle

Wrong wrong wrong. The dishwasher rinses the dishes first then drains the water. You wouldn't want the pod in there during the initial rinse cycle 🤦🏽‍♀️

Don't put pods in the first cycle, usually the very first cycle in a lot of dishwashers is the shortest cycle. Wait until the 2nd cycle.

My manual says put it in tub near filter.. not in detergent dispenser

Read the bag on the pods. Mine (Cascade) states to put the pods in the soap dispenser.

Don't do this. You'll just waste it if you do.

No! This is totally wrong. The dishwasher detergent will be used in the prewash cycle rather than being used in the actual wash cycle. You will be wasting a lot of money if you are doing this
