True. Java was my first oop language. After learning Java it is always very easy to grasp concepts of other languages. I learned javascript, python, go, and a little bit of C# after that.

Java was my first language and gave me strong OOP foundations. It is easy to learn because it is logical and just makes sense. But it is too verbose and I felt it started limiting me. Its also used on backend mostly which bored me. I switched to TypeScript which is basically JavaScript with optional typing. I love it but I dont recommend it as first language because it has many hard to grasp concepts if you dont know some statically typed OOP language beforehand

I think people should learn languages because they want to solve problems. That's the best way of thinking in order to avoid burnouts. That said, I believe Java is great for solving almost any type of problems and has the greatest span of learning materials. Go Java!

I started with Java then JavaScript then Kotlin then Python and last C#. For me, the best of the bunch is C#. To be clear, I’m talking about the language not the ecosystem.

Personally I'd recommend C then Java. Learning Java was easy for me after learning C.

C++ is still king! C# is a just a newer cousin of Java!

Not really! I learned Java first and Python has been one language I think I learned today and forgot what the hell it was the next day! 🤦🏽‍♂️
