man, sunny sure did suffer a lot
you cant even imagine the guilt sunny has been going trough
lets try to count all the things that. add more pain to his suffering
-mari loved him and he (accidentally) killed her
-mari even saved him from drowning but he killed her
-he loved mari so much that he would miss her even if she's late for some hours, yet he killed her
-hero and mari had a cute relationship, but he destroyed it.
-hero would want to be a cook, but he changed his career with lies
-he has a crush on aubrey, but she killed mari that was a sister figure for her
-he made aubrey become more agressive, a semi-bully
-he lied to his friends while knowing the truth, seeing all the changes his friends had bcs of the mari's suicide lie
-he destroyed a whole group of friends
-and the most important, that friend group was sunny's everything. that was a group of friends that a introvert like sunny only would imagine. he was having his best time with his friends, but he destroyed it himself, destroyed it bcs of his selfish anger(sunny's perspective), changed his friends whole life, and finally, he killed almost everything he had...
I can see why sunny used escapism, thats a lot to carry...and I am not even sure if I counted everyting...

I’m not sure if this was intentional but at 3:27, I noticed Kel’s back towards the perspective. If I’m not mistaken, Kel had withheld his emotions for the purpose of keeping everyone together within the group. Which is what gave Aubrey the feeling that Kel didn’t care about Mari’s death. At 3:27, he’s crying yet you cannot see his face, I think it was symbolic for his crying behind the scenes, only really expressing his emotions when he’s alone—and where his friends and brother can’t see him cry.

I can imagine Sunny, years after the good ending, deciding to try out the guitar for a bit of a change from the violin, and singing this song to himself as he reflects on his time with Mari, the 4 years he spent in isolation, and the 3 days where he reconnected with Kel, Aubrey, Hero and Basil, before confessing the truth, and how that probably affected his life after the fact. Then, once he stops singing, his phone, probably some type of mobile phone now, starts ringing, he answers it, and smiles, speaking quietly, but happily into it.

“Hey Kel. How’s life back home?”
