As a french guy that doesn't go out often and spend my day watching vtubers while working or playing I now realise I'm actually so unused to listen to french on stream... So listening to people I've been watching for years speaking french is such a disturbing experience lmao.
Also it's a bit out of context but I'm so happy Niji EN is going to be present at Japan Expo in Paris this year ! Even if I think Rosemi is the only at the panel that can speak french ahah

Thank you for the stream!

I'm only at the beginning (VOD gang), but to make French eating times easy:
8am: petit déjeuner
10am (mostly for children): collation de 10 heure
12: déjeuner/repas de midi (honnêtement j'entends plus souvent "tu manges quoi ce midi" plutôt que "tu manges quoi pour le déjeuner")
3pm (very rare, not many people do it): heure du thé
4pm (mostly children): goûter
6pm (for people drinking alcohol): apéro (short for "apéritif" as Nina said, but most people will say "apéro). I say it's a 6pm because that's the general time around you start the apéro, but anytime time in early evening is fine
7-8pm: dîner

I think "souper" is like for people drinking soupe after the last meal? But I'm not sure as I honestly never hard anyone use it.

Also, it depends on region as Wilson (I think it was him?) said. Like, in a part of Swiztland (how do we write Suisse in English again... Help), "déjeuner" is the first meal (the one at 8am), "dîner" is lunch, and "souper" is the last meal.... So yeah, why keeping it simple after all? Lmao
Oh and "brunch"... Well, we stole the English word, we just say brunch

I hope it can help if someone want to visit France (don't have high expectations though, it's not a beautiful country honestly [shaming my own country, let's go])

i’ve been taking french for the past 5 years and its really interesting to see how much i understand. I never really thought about how much progress i made in french but i was able to understand like 99% of it!! NijiFR will miss you nina 💕

18:11 le verlan est à la basse un langage de cité pour éviter que les personnes qui ne sont pas de la cité comprenne ce qui est dit mais à la fin le verlan est rentré dans le langage courant grâce à l'évolution constante du français.

Merci beaucoup pour ce stream Nina, c'était bien de pouvoir tous vous entendre parler français. En passant, déjeuner -> dîner -> souper c'est québécois/canadien, c'est pour ça que les autres parlaient de petit-déj -> déjeuner -> dîner (qui est la façon européenne de le dire), mais les deux sont bons selon la région! Ton français est parfait à mes yeux (pendant longtemps je pensais que tu étais québécoise oups).
I hope we can have more French streams in NijiEN moving forward, you gave them so many cool ideas to work with!
Also, I'm so sad you're graduating soon, but wish you the best going forward, you will be missed for sure 😭
