In this video I go through the steps to preparing and cooking a slow cooker whole chicken. This is a super easy dish that you can just leave cooking for 8 hours.

Vegetables
• 3 Sticks of celery
• 4 Potatoes
• 2 Carrots
• 1 Brown onion
The Seasoning
• 4 tsp. chicken salt
• 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
• 1 tsp. thyme
• 2 tsp. paprika
The chicken and stuffing
• 3-4 Garlic Cloves
• 1 Onion Halved
• 1 Whole Chicken
• 1 Tbsp. vegetable Oil

If you’re expecting crispy skin, then you will be disappointed. Slow cooking results in a delicious tender chicken but doesn’t use dry heat so the outside won’t crisp up. You could try placing it in a hot oven once it’s cooked but this this may result in an overcooked chicken.

If your crock pot/slow cooker is too small, then you can try halving the chicken and placing it in that way. However, keep in mind it might cook a lot faster.

I recommend coating the chicken and leaving it to marinade for about 6 hours. This will help encourage stronger flavours resulting in a much better tasting chicken.

The leftover chicken can be used in a whole range of different dishes. For example, I used it in some delicious sandwiches with avocado and baby spinach. You could even use it in a pasta, curry or other dishes.

Either that chicken is really small or that person's hands are huge.
