I'm a newer Taylor Swift fan, and hadn't heard of The 1975/Matty Healy until TTPD came out.
Since then, I've listened to every song of both of theirs since they met in 2014. It's like they go back and forth about the same topics like a normal persons conversations. I think they've been on/off since meeting in 2014. They also both have Jack Antanoff producing their albums so the synth similarities sound familiar.
I think Matty has been the love of her life since they first met. It just never worked 100% for many reasons. It's so hard to move past those intense feelings when you feel so connected. Plus I think he gave her little scraps here and there and they both strung each other along even when they were seeing other people.
The saddest part is that most relationships like that don't have their conversations disguised as lyrics in songs for the world to hear.
