(Lyrics):
[Verse 1: Matty Healy]
I know a place
It's somewhere I go when I need to remember your face
We get married in our heads
Something to do while we try to recall how we met

[Chorus: Matty Healy]
Do you think I have forgotten?
Do you think I have forgotten?
Do you think I have forgotten
About you?
[Verse 2: Matty Healy]
You and I (Don't let go)
We're alive (Don't let go)
With nothing to do I could lay and just look in your eyes
Wait (Don't let go)
And pretend (Don't let go)
Hold on and hope that we'll find our way back in the end

[Chorus: Matty Healy]
Do you think I have forgotten?
Do you think I havе forgotten?
Do you think I have forgotten
About you?
Do you think I havе forgotten?
Do you think I have forgotten?
Do you think I have forgotten
About you?

[Bridge: Carly Holt, Matty Healy]
There was something about you that now I can't remember
It's the same damn thing that made my heart surrender
And I'll miss you on a train
I'll miss you in the morning
I never know what to think about
I think about you
About you
[Outro: Matty Healy]
Do you think I have forgotten about you?
About you
About you
About you
Do you think I have forgotten about you?
About you

Listening to this song makes me feel like I'm in a rom-com movie, going through a bad relationship/mental breakdown/knowing your crush is in love with someone else, feeling like nothing going to work out, crying softly on the bus/metro train, then missing my family members so much but I'm still wishing myself the best in the future.

A song about two people who couldn’t make it work who knows the love was there but it just couldn’t be 🙏🏽

There's this unexplainable pang of pain in my heart every time he sings ' Do you think I have forgotten you?' In his calm, gentle and soothing voice.

This sounds like an encounter with your college ex at your friend's wedding. When you thought you have forgotten everything about them-- the feelings, the pain you experienced when you two parted ways, and those nights when you cried hoping that your decision about the two of you is right, comes crashing back. And then you'll realize you haven't really forgotten how much you loved them and that tiny bit of affection for them comes growing like wildfire. This sounds like falling in love with them again the moment you see them from far away.

This also sounds like you two have been feeling the same way, and they had the courage to ask you if you wanna ditch the wedding ceremony and go for a car ride, and then you two didn't realize it's already dawn and you two are watching the sunrise together in the car.

About You by The 1975 is such a sentimental and heartbreaking way of remembering past people. realization hits us that we are never bound to forget. no matter how much we want to completely erase memories of people, we couldn’t help but to remember them in all ways. they remain on everything—even and most especially on the ones that are in need of loving and caring. they leave a part of their existence within us, making it harder to get rid of them. by that, we truly are a shared fragment of other people. maybe, no matter how terrible things were between us and them, we couldn’t help but to always have them. they will always shelter a space in our hearts and minds as wounds, scratches, and grief to forever live with. My high school sweetheart died nine years ago. The first time I heard this song every memory flashed through my heard. As if I could ever forget about him.

it sounds like two old lovers slowly missing or remembering one another after drifting apart in their younger years

This reminds me of wife who passed last month. We both loved The 1975. I miss her so much and could never forget her.

Phenomenal. Such an 80's retro vibe.

This song gives me flashes of summer memories with my best friends. Camping on the beach with a bonfire, driving downtown being young, wild, and free in the land of the midnight sun. Driving on the free way going no where with the wind in my hair. 😢

this song feels like the end of a coming of age movie. not just a rom-com but also a simple movie about growing up. friends, priorities, everything changes once you grow up, and this sounds like the end of the movie when they have to go separate ways.

for me this song feels like seeing your high school sweetheart after many years and realising that the feelings never really went away and they are the one you are meant to be with

Every single time I hear this song, I burst into tears. I have no idea what it is- I don’t particularly relate to this song, yet I still feel a close connection to it. I fucking love this band.

3:02 best lyric that really touches my inner soul by remembering my old past life and my current self. I may have not a good happy memory from the start but I think I found my serenity by these words spoken so thank you, I finally found my true purpose <3

Relate so much to this. Sometimes its ok to not move on and cling to that one unrealistic thought that we will somehow reunite with lost loves when in reality both parties have moved on. Or have they?
