Hey Matt, really enjoy your videos! I'm seeing something pretty telling in your footwork, that is likely throttling a ton of your energy. In order to really lay into the disc, you need to be balanced at every stage in your footwork. There are a few cues that can inform you whether you're balanced during the X-step, and one of them is whether you feel an urge to turn your head away before your swing path requires it. If you pause at 3:20 in your video, you'll see your head is already being pulled off target, long before your weight has moved to your back foot, and ages before your plant stride. This is causing you to backswing early, which is releasing all the wound-up tension in your pelvis and core. The system is going slack. The later you can backswing, the more powerful the swing itself will be.

Your footwork overall looks incredible, and you are de-weighting instantly, with your shoulders rotated deep into the backswing. You're set up to crush the disc, but too much of your intention is to swing early, and that's preventing your plant quad from adding tons of energy to your swing. You really can't fire your quad in sequence unless you're balanced during all your footwork, and I think that's not currently happening.

I recommend checking out these two videos, which discuss stride balance during the X-step. You can practice the body positions anywhere you go, without a disc, and the balance you learn will translate to the course. Again, the cue you're looking for is whether you need to turn your head away off the target.

Best of luck with your quest to hit 500!
