This kid is the reason why Hawaii has hiking banned for most trails.

Back in the 80s, the state was sued by the families of a group of hikers that died after the dangerous trail they were on collapsed and killed them. As a result the state had to pay out several million dollars in damages.

After this they closed off most of the more adventurous hikes like "the stairway to heaven" which has been closed to the public since 1987.

The kid knew that the trail he was going on has been closed, since the trail has been closed for almost 40 years.

The family has a go fund me but also owns three homes and is pretty well off.. man, I’m glad he’s good but they had enough to pay for his recovery. Crazy how people will send money to people who clearly don’t need it but ignore those who desperately need help

I hope he gets well soon, I had a brain surgery last year and I think the most painful part was getting those staples out, you can't tell but they are curved and are the worst pain I have felt ( and my brain was being crushed)
