This is a simple guide to submit a sitemap to Google Search Console and how to remove one, this is meant to be a foundational video for the SEO series. If you need a Sitemap I personally recommend using Yoast SEO but All In One or Rank Math functionally works the same.

This is a simple video for the upcoming SEO series to address a simple question I get asked, how to add or remove a sitemap in Google Search Console. Just remember if you're using a Sitemap Index you should only submit the index file and not each sitemap individually. Also, remember to always submit the index that way any new sitemaps that are generated for your site as it grows are automatically submitted.

Finally, if you were totally unsure of how to set up Google Search Console for your WordPress Website I highly recommend installing Google Site Kit and it will automatically set up and verify the listing in search console.

Hey! Thanks for the guidance. I am a bit confused. Should I submit every sitemap and how do I know which sitemaps to submit? Also, do I need to remove the old sitemaps before submitting new ones, and do I need to submit sitemaps for every page and post even for the updated posts or pages?
