Same for children exposed to grooming gangs as well yet getting elected officials to do anything about it is useless

How will crisis affect the economic migrants will we have to send them back because we cannot afford to keep them fed and watered and heated in the 4* hotels while our own people worry if the can eat or heat.

There is no such a thing like child poverty....kids do Not work so.. they can be living in poverty because parents are poor.
When energy price will reach £3k, families earning national average will be in "fuel poverty" bracket.

Handouts where not around when I was a child...we did without, I am stronger for that... I really think it makes you appreciate what you have, people shared more and looked after each other... I really think more handouts to fix the problem will not get us out the hole we are in... Its a game plan, to make you more dependent on the government...

It's every kid's right to have a decent upbringing but it's not everyone's right to have kids!

I wouldn't buy a supercar then expect people to pay for it and the on going running costs. I was always brought up with my parents and grandparents telling me "if you can't afford it you don't have it".

If you can't afford the expense of children then don't keep dropping them out!

There were no handouts when I was a kid. Both my parents worked full-time, my Mum went back to work not long after I was born as there was no paid maternity leave.

The problem is people have got used to being Nannied over the years with handouts galore and the "want it now..buy now can't pay later" generation.

Children SHOULD NOT BE PUNISHED for their parents failures

It is not the children's fault but irresponsible parents having too many kids when they're on benefits or low incomes. It is not a right to have kids because you're on a low or no income. Middle class people decide and also pay the taxes for those who don't think

Listen to the incredulity in the hosts voice when the guest suggests raising UC in line with inflation...
Unemployment and disability benefits are supposed to be a safety net...not a noose.

I know that those households that are on uc there is only one parent working they don't want to work

If you get the Full UC award and are unable to work to top up your income, the energy price rise in october will mean you are spending more than half of your yearly income on the same or less energy as you were using last year. The full amount of UC (without the housing element) is approximately £6k per year. That is what these people are existing on, for food, energy, clothing, cleaning, transport...EVERYTHING to be paid for with just £6k per year. If typical energy bills for a household are as high as £3.5k per year that is HALF YOUR INCOME.

All the comments on here ! that’s right everyone blame each other and not the policy makers, divide the people and conquer. Get them hating each other and squabbling between themselves that will keep the heat off the policy makers. Wake up

Look at a tree. Adversity makes us stronger. Look how the U.S. came out of the Great Depression to lead the world in 1939-1945, and beyond.

More investment in small modular reactors is needed. Britain needs to laser focus this issue and bin off the overpriced green agenda with all its bad maths.
