I visited their warehouse once probably 5 or so years ago, they were nice but even back then the biggest memory I have is how overpriced they were. I bought a few cheaper games because I made the drive but never shopped them again. Their prices are horrible.

They charge $210 for a USED Switch Lite, which is still widely available for $200 NEW

started my collection in 2009 as well, never pay market value was my rule and games were so much cheaper then so the great deals were almost daily, it sucks for new collectors now so the best advice is be patient with hunting at garage sales, thrift stores, pawn shops, flea markets and CL cause there are still deals to be found if you're not in a rush

i say this as a reminder the power is in the consumer you dont have to buy no matter how much the price is and how you feel about it. nobody is forcing you and i believe you can find good deals sometimes on the hunt or through other collector friends.

I've personally dealt with them. Sold them 9 consoles and got ripped off

The controller crap is completely unacceptable when charging two or three times more in some cases. It's so scummy I wouldn't buy from them just because of that.

I seen one of their videos with 2 girls at a desk laughing and talking, and when Joey and the camera pointed towards them they stopped and picked up a GameCube like they was working on it. I think they need to focus more on their job. After seeing all this I would just buy one from ebay.

They've been around for like 20 years now, I remember seeing them from at least 2004.

I don't see them going anywhere, they have a specific demographic, the casual retro gamer that just wants to play Mario Kart 64 or Duck Hunt on NES etc and don't want to deal with eBay. They just want the 1 year warranty and not have to worry. Most people upset with them aren't even who they are catered to.

I've been of the mind, if you don't like the price, just don't not buy it. Simple as that. It's not worth getting upset about. 🤷

From a sellers perspective with prices for retro video games so high I think it's the perfect time to sell. Over the last year I've contemplated selling my gaming collection because I believe the market will turn and prices will come down. It's already happening in the graded game market. From a buyers perspective right now is not the best time to build a retro gaming collection unless games can be purchased on the cheap. Especially for the heavy hitters.

I've never done business with DK Oldies and the last time I checked out their website was awhile back. Retro gaming prices are the highest I've ever seen them at and I think that trend will change once the stock market crashes where I believe every collecting category will be affected. I wonder if DK Oldies stock supply is low and that's why they're charging so much?

They are overcharging on the overcharging.
They say its an extra 50 to include original pads with the Cube... but notice they increase the price by 60.

I bought from them not too long ago. Had to clean the games to get them to work but overall just ok. Just too expensive better off with eBay or whatnot

Thanks for pointing out the price discrepancies. If we are buying these systems at a premium price, why do we have to pay extra for first-party controllers? It's highway robbery and greed. At those prices the original controllers needs to be set as default. DK MOLDIES needs to get their shit straight and needs to be reported to the Better Business Brueau in droves.

Finally you address the controversy that is DKOldies. Would enjoy seeing you react to some of the videos from folks that got a refurbished console from them

One year warranty isn't a big deal for something that will most likely not get used much . The average working used consoles from anywhere will work for many years . That is part of the reason DKO thinks it's okay to lie and say their consoles are refurbed . They know that 90% will work for a year without even proper cleaning let alone without refurbing . That's all they care about, get that sale and the console will take care of itself . The prices are so high they could replace these units several times a piece and still be in the green .

The retro gaming prices are insane. There is a used game store by me that’s selling a genesis “bundle”, for $300! I’m all for capitalism also. But there’s a fine line to where it turns into greed. I don’t see the value being on a genesis being that high.

I only knew about DKOldies because of tiktok and could tell right away it was a rip off. never knew it was actually around for that long tbh.

Saying Nickel and Dime, and I keep thinking of when Ted DiBaise bought Nikolai Volkoff and called him Nickel and Dime Volkoff. 😉 However, even though like I've told you before, I like to do my old school gaming with ROMs, Emulators, and Retro Controllers, so not familiar with DKOldies, but they don't sound like a good company to me.
