Halftime on the outro is my reason to wake up and hate in the morning 🥱

The thing is, rappers dont care. If it's heat, it's heat.

Another kind of variation of idea 3 many producers are scared of are key changes. You don't even have to be an expert in music theory or anything, even understanding the circle of fifths on a basic level is enough in my experience. It really gives that section of your beat a new feeling without having to change to much. If anyone hasn't tried it before, they definitely should!

Fruity Love Philter with the melodic bandpass preset is also good to exclude big stuff from the sample

I use Halftime on almost every beat but I use it for certain reasons. I will use it to create depth by layering it under the same loop, throw it on the intro or a bridge or outro at times, put the loop on 1.5x to create a new vibe or I'll set it to 1/16 halftime and make a stutter effect with the sounds or drums. I try to be creative with that shit but I do agree with Navie 100% when it comes to that 1 technique being the only arrangement sauce card up your sleeve.

Here’s another idea on how to use Halftime:
1- make another copy of sample
2- add half time on it
3- add lots of reverb
4- add an FX like a flang and phaser
5- add pump to it or side chain
6- mix it
This will give you a drone like effect in the back of your instrument or an interesting piece of your arrangement

I feel like Halftime used sparingly can still be a good tool, but I totally agree with every suggestion you pointed out. Awesome work as usual!

i love halftime, often i actually make the melody while halftime is already on, so i don't have to just hope for the best

You’re appreciated Navie You legitimately go through the ins & outs of what you’re teaching and do it in a way that people can actually understand!

Navie D & In The Mix are the most detail oriented producers in the game. 🤙🏼

Dude this video is amazing! I was looking up what does halftime do (because I forgot) and I'm glad I clicked on this video. Thought it was going to be clickbait. Thank you so much!!!

You can also add a GrossBeat to that pitched up Sample so its work kind of an counter melody or just reverse it and arrange it so it dont match the main sample
i think those two ideas can add more movement and bounce to the beat
