I've had KC for 15 years and didn't realize it. Growing up, I always rubbed my eyes. It advanced so much that now my right cornea has ripped or is scarred in the center that prevents clarity. (Other possible cause: I use to sleep with contacts and in the morning, rip the dried out ones off my eyes.) I'm 38 now and my left eye is the only one i can see clearly through and allows me to live normally. I never rub it anymore and take care of it.

My doctor told me it was genetic, and people who suffer with severe allergies and hayfever. I wore those horrible hard contact lens and that pain forced me to have the cornea transplant for both eyes. That was 20 years ago. Today, l'm legally blind and my sight worsen every day. It also causes dry eye syndrome, light sensitivity, loss of depth perception, difficulty seeing at night, and astigmatism.

Oh, darn! I love rubbing my eyes. I do have a lot of halos at night, too.

I would advise the ppl who rub their eyes to "STOP RUBBING ASAP"1ce u have KC its a pain if it advances so much that u will need scleral lenses..Most ppl like me never took it so srsly bcoz during my time early 2010 there was not much awareness regarding kc or there weren't even youtube videos like this..

Thats all me and my Doctors said i should take this Eye drops and Next appointment We will see if I need a eye Surgery

I actually have this condition due to the fact that when pollen enters the eyes, it feels almost like someone spilled chemicals to the eyes
