"You must... believe."

The final Indiana Jones film may not have been the best movie but it was a perfect conclusion to the iconic character with finally the addition of a complex emotional depth. A very beautiful performance by Harrison Ford as well. Really enjoyed making this video, I love the vibe it brought to me.

It’s videos like this that make me appreciate the entire run of a franchise. I personally liked Dial of Destiny. It was a nice bonding experience for me and dad who’s a BIG Indiana Jones fan. I still remember when he introduced me to Raiders, and the way I viewed movies from that point on radically changed.

Indiana Jones is a franchise that means more than the world to me and has for as long as it’s been experienced and passed down by my family. And while I can acknowledge these movies to be a flawed fantasy, they sure are that to me - a fantasy to live through the adventures of life regardless of how big or small. A very simple message yet a very powerful and compelling one at that. Something I adore from Indy’s films is that of which they have captured the grand and smaller, yet metaphorical, adventures of one man. It is so that I truly adore every single movie and this tribute for not having skipped over any of that. God, how I wish Dial of Destiny was viewed with more respect but hopefully those few that get it, get it.

The Last Crusades inspired me when I was 7 years old through VCR at Malaysia. 22 Years Later, Here I am, Globetrotting through the ruins of Hierapolis. Thanks Indy.

The Indiana Jones films are such a wild ride and no matter what's thought about Indy 5, Harrison Ford is a phenomenal actor even in his old age and did such great work with the character over the years. Great video, my friend! Couldn't ask for a better Indy tribute

2:56 - omg!! I just realised that in the trailer for the 5th movie "I have come to believe it's not so much what you believe in, it's how hard you believe" he was refering to his dad's words from the 3rd movie "You must believe boy, you must believe!"

I realised it only now despite watching the 3rd movie countless times

I loved the fifth film tbh. Especially that scene where he literally geeks out in Sicily. Killed me with man tears

Okay listen up, I just finished Dial of Destiny for the 31st time (yes, you read that correctly) and this was my first recommended video on YouTube afterwards. I’m also crying. Thank you for making such an amazing video.

Always loved this song. Such a good choice for the mood you conveyed. You crushed this edit man. Indy will always have a strong place in my heart because of my father.

I remember people being mad about how Indy’s class didn’t listen in dial of destiny, even though that directly ties into one of the main themes of the movie, how things change and life moves forward with or without you.

Indy’s class not being interested in what he’s saying mimics the cultural shift of the time the film is set in, where people were a lot less interested in the past, especially with the future being made so much more interesting with the (at the time) recent moon landing.

Voller even says that the world doesn’t appreciate men like him and Jones anymore, and that scene at the college is essentially living proof of that fact.

But even if we ignore the themes of the movie, and focus purely on continuity, Indy’s students in the 1930s didn’t really pay much attention either. The girls in the class were just staring because he was attractive, and the dudes just sat there like npcs probably daydreaming throughout half of it.

There was even an Indiana jones comic (keep in mind the books are canon as well) which features a brief moment of Indy fact checking a student who was being ignorant of Native American culture, and I’m pretty sure that’s not even the only time something like this has happened.

Even in the young chronicles of Indiana jones, where the crux of the show is an older Indy telling stories of his younger years, 90% of the time the people he’s talking to will ignore his story and miss the entire point of him telling it to them.

People sadly refuse to learn from history, which is consistent with this franchise, and real life if we’re being honest. If anything people should probably give props for accuracy on that front.

(Sorry for the rant, I’m way too passionate about this franchise, and I’m still confused about some of the complaints dial of destiny got. It feels like I didn’t even watch the same movie as them)
