I love Shatner. I'm glad they did what he said.

He was the Captain. He ruled the ship and all others were supporting characters. Although we loved all of them and love Spock, Doc, Chekov, and Sulu, they were the ensemble that made it work. It didn't matter that Shatner had all those lines, he knew his worth and I'm glad they let him have his way. If any of the others had hard feelings and got upset, they hid it well. Now all, and I mean every one of those actors stand in the annals of time as one of the best loved cast of any TV show that ever existed. I will not watch any of the movies or shows that tries to go back and remake the original. Never!

He was the perfect actor for that role. That character and the premise required periods of over acting and yet be believable. I think he nailed it.

It was the 60s . Well it might scrape some noses but Shatner’s vision for the character that wound up forging the show was the correct one . I just wonder about that rumor about some of the intimate female scenes were placed in there by Shatner when they weren’t there at first because he was a bit of a flirt and a horn dog back then .
