HOWTO Connect a MOTU AVB Device to the Avid S3L

This video describes the configuration changes and process required to connect a MOTU AVB device to the Avid S3L. Similar changes should work for the S6L, but some additional work will be needed. It should also be possible to connect other AVB equipment with the process shown, although I haven’t tested that personally.

How did you find out about the name "diamond". That does not work in my setup. I saw below about "kirkwood" Does not work either. And is it always ftp name "ftp" and password "ftp"

1. AVB Ethernet switch inside of E3 engine is named Kirkwood. Don't ask why - it's just a codename.
2. Hostnames may not match diamond<4 characters from MAC address>.local, especially if its SD card was cloned from the other engine. It's more reliable to use Bonjour browser and search for _EuConProxyIO._tcp services.

Is it possible some how to connect laptop straight to stage16 at stage? Like using Presonus AVB-D16 or somekind of else soundcard? So you can play backing tracks straight to avb stream via cat.
Then you could use stage 16 xlr:s to analog audio like microphones.
