I understand that the format specifiers come from fortran77. Is it still necessary to use them in fortran 90 or fortran 95?
Because I think the F90, F95 already do those options automatically.

hi arun, i just wanna know that how do i write a matrix in fortran not in the main program actually i just calling these from another file where i have given these matrices, like as below:
1, 2
2, 3
3, 4
4, 5
if i have the value like (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) .

what does 7e10.4 mean ? I do understand the e10.4 bit now, but the 7? What does that indicate?
