"Top Gun: Maverick" broke the Memorial Day weekend box office record in North America, earning $156 million in the first four days. The sequel is Tom Cruise's highest domestic debut in his 40-year career. Erik Davis, managing editor of Fandango, joined Vladmir Duthiers and Anne-Marie Green to discuss the film's massive opening. "Top Gun: Maverick" is distributed by Paramount Pictures, owned by Paramount Global, the parent company of CBS.

The fact that he addressed the audience before the movie began was amazing. It speaks to his character and we need more of that. Loved the movie!

Correct. It is not a remake. It is a continuation of the story.

We waited for more than a year since the first trailer, they did a good job of keeping it not leaked

Looks like all those free movie tickets given to Applebee’s customers to see this film really paid off. #FancyLike

It's a good old fashioned American movie is why it's breaking records, people are tired of what out now. No woke stuff.
That's why Top Gun hit highest box office in 110 years history for paramount. Congratulations Tom.

I agree. I don’t even see marvel movies in threatres anymore. I just subscribe to Disney plus for a weekend, watch the new movies/shows, and then unsubscribe until they release more content. Top gun is movie that totally justifies seeing in theatres
