Join me LIVE in the Queen of the Skies along the West Coast of the USA.

Today we’re flying a closed beta copy of the Felis 747-200 from Paine Field (KPAE), the birthplace of the Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet, to San Francisco (KSFO) in the factory rollout livery of the first 747, the city of Everett.

This will be a Full Flight Tutorial based on the includes checklist following Real World procedures.

KPDX. It tripped me out hearing you say all my local VORs :) Battle Ground is a small town north-ish of Vancouver, WA

Very nice and detailed. A few issues I noticed during preflight which Felis should look at:

The APU start, you don't select START until the door is open. Unlike the NG, the first selection is ON then wait for the door. Also the door opened too quickly. On ground it takes 45 seconds to fully open.

After the APU start @flightdeck2sim selected the bleed valve open and the VALVE CLOSED lights went out. They should remain illuminated as the valves remain closed. The engine bleed valves have reverse flow protection. If duct pressure is higher than the engine bleed pressure the bleed valve will close (unless ground start is selected). So with engines off, and APU bleed air on the engine bleed valves will be closed even with the bleed switch open. They'll stay closed with engines at idle until APU bleed is closed as APU bleed pressure is higher than the engine idle bleed pressure.


The checklist is wrong, I can't think why it should be checked in GA mode during preflight. Clearly it must be in TOD for takeoff, but maybe the SOP it was based on didn't select that at before engine start. It would be in GA after the previous landing and that is the mode the selector will go to with power off (springloaded).

The next mountain shown after passing Mt. Rainier is of course Mt. St. Helens which blew up many years ago now leaving a gaping hole in the side of the mountain which is clearly seen in this flight!

Glad to see that this project has finally been completed! You would make me and a BUNCH of my co-workers extremely happy if you would make an -SP version, particularly of NASA's SOFIA (Stratospheric Observatory For Infrared Astronomy)! I can probably help with pictures and details.

You can't enter INS position with "Remote", this is done to avoid entering a wrong position in the three INS. If you enter a wrong position in one of the three INS you will get a "WARN" on the INS(Because its position differ from the others one). In flight you can check your distance to any WPT without the risk of changing your track provided you don't press "ENTER" after "WPT CHANGE"😂, just press "CLEAR" to return to your present leg. On final select "WIND""HOLD", if the digits blink that means you have windshear.I used these INS for years as I flew as DC-8 and DC-10 flight engineer . One question about this Carousel IVA rendition, is triple mixing implemented, and if it is why not using it(Your position will be a mix so you will be closer of your track. IRL I never saw the case of so much offset for a short flight of one hour, may be too much INS drift implemented)?

I have a book, bought by my father, released about in 1990, the title translated is "AZ610, story of an everyday flight" written by an Alitalia Captain on 747-200 and talking about all phases of flight.
My flight simming passion was born because of this book too!

Just a suggestion, since X-plane is usually darker in cockpit, it would be nice to turn on the gauge lighting .

Hi, just started my first ever startup of this (and first startup of an analog cockpit with FE station) and doing a test flight from KPHX to KLAX. Had a weird issue (I set about 290 passengers) that I accelerated extremely fast and the plane even after setting climb mode would not slow down at 4k vertical speed up without using speed brake. Now I'm trying to find out how to find out the top of descent. In the end after a minute with overspeed the plane leveled and I cruised normally. Now descending (Good to do with 310 cruise and Hlywd waypoint showing 320)
