Felis Boeing 747-200 | Complete Beginner Tutorial (inc 2023 Updates)

Be you new to this amazingly detailed aircraft, or considering purchasing it for XPlane 12 - This video WILL guide you through a short flight, and explain most of the aircraft systems essential to the flight, to a basic degree.

What this video will NOT cover:
basic principles of flight,
basic navigation,
using ATC or exact times to use seatbelt signs, lights etc.

The flight itself is only around 45 minutes - and perhaps on reflection another 15-30 minutes would have helped, if nothing else give me a breather, but alas that would have made for a video well over 3 hours!

Please Enjoy, and I hope you learn at least something, and if you were undecided before about if to buy this plane - I think this might just make up your mind!

I was wondering if there was any checklist which this video is based on, or which are based on this video. I’m trying to make a checklist on this video for my own sim as I am new to the 742 and really like the simplicity of the tutorial, but as you can imagine, watching 30 minutes for 4 checklist items can get a bit boring when you’ve seen the tutorial 3 times already!

on the 747 when using pushback don't forget to drive it forward for the last segment just to make sure BS wheels are straight after pushback

at 58:40 that is an interesting way to think of it.
I have used it quite a lot so I don't need to think that much anymore but my fallback that I was told is that latitude is lazy and laing down, and longitude is long(standing up) in school. (the englich vertion is not perfect it is better in my native language(swedish)).

I love this aircraft it has a good balans of work and how hard it is to fly it

Hello, how are you? I just wanted to ask for your help. It's been days since I bought the felis 747200 for x plane 11 but I don't know why every time I take off the plane and raise the landing gear, the hyd 4 qty falls and lowers itself, do you know why? I need your help thank you very much

I don't see the point in following checklist items to check and test things which aren't simulated to fail. like, why test the stall warning system if there's 0% chance it's not working?

would be interesting to test these systems, have to log faults and make a decision, wait for a mechanic to attempt a repair or continue the flight without it, adding career sim and fleet sim elements to the flight and systems sim

Hmmmm. why are your IRS align knobs black and mine are white? It somehow seems you are running a different version. I am doing this today on 1.2.4 and they are white... unless this changed since the video was made.

I keep getting a low engine oil light on 2 engines about 20 minutes after departure, then both engines shut off, leaving only 2 others running. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

I noticed on my 747-200, you can’t hear the voice to connect the chocks and GPU unless you have the battery on and standby power.

Your videos are always interesting. Two days ago I also bought XP 12 and I'm experiencing problems that I don't see in your video: my cockpit is completely dark and the 747 Felis is very unstable on the pitch axis, all defects that I don't see in yours. Are there any special settings on the lighting and flight model? I have flown this aircraft since day one of its release on XP 11 and know it inside out
