This caught my attention because I have a similar issue but replaced the accordion elbow with a solid metal one. Much better and nicer looking. Wound up with a chipmunk getting into the bottom opening though and making a nest way up by the elbow. Now I keep a nylon knee high stocking over the end. Lol
