Another thing in Wood Sprout's favor is how unbelievably powerful it is early in a run when healing is scarce, let alone consistent healing. It helps that for some reason the thing has always had a weirdly high spawn rate on my first levels.
Seriously, that thing has carried me through the first 2-3 stages so often

The hardest I've ever broken the game was using FMP on an Artifact of Command run and looping to stage 20. I ended up able to throw out 3 FMP's at once that each did 1, 000, 000, 000+ damage per second while active, in an area of >800m. Literally a bigger area than most maps. And, every time it killed something, they would activate the same explosion on death. Everything died instantly upon spawning. By the end of the game I literally didn't see any enemies, just showers of explosions and damage numbers.
