Trouble is, if you have any Sony camera within the last decade at least you’re going to be able to take great images. So the need to spend anything upgrading is really hard to justify. YouTube channels make us feel we need to do this every month but in the real world with bills and mortgages we really don’t need to. We should make more of what we have.

As the owner of the FX30, the ZVE10ii may work as a b-cam. I mainly film YT videos and narrative work. So, overheating may not be an issue for me. If you shoot interviews and long videos, then the mark ii may not be a good choice.

400 under the MSRP of the 6700 seems like a fair value. I just wish they stopped using the 'vlogging' label for a model line with no IBIS. It inevitably draws people completely new to cameras thinking that you can just effortlessly walk and talk with it like it's a Pocket 3; who use active stabilization and wonder why the results are so jello-ey when they use a 180 degree shutter like all the introductory videography tutorials instruct you to. 'Content creator line' is a bit more in line with 2024 and its actual strengths.

Great review! Seems like a nice lighter option than the zve1 with a giant full frame lens. Nice sunglasses too, are you liking those, I've been wanting to pick up a pair :)

10:18 you answered the question why the cinema FX30 has IBIS and the ZVE10 II vlogging camera doesn't brilliantly. Brought clarity to the irony of the FX30 having IBIS better than anyone else.

Thanks for showing the Catalyst Browse option for stabilization. In addition to in-camera adjustment, I wish Sony would collaborate with Apple, Adobe and BlackMagic to get the gyro data into NLE's.

It s ok, but not a camera worthy of the beach intro. I have high expectations about the next a7sIV and also the a7V. I was really waiting for this camera. I sold all my full frame gears including the bodies, lenses, flashes and triggers.
I was looking for a very cheap all in one good camera and thr zve10 seemed like a good option but it was too old and lacked a few things. This will be perfect for me. Thanks for the review.

The overheating is unacceptable.
It's funny to see YTers go "ah my camera overheated" always the first gen of this camera.

The fact that it's not a 1 hour recoding time for 1080P 30fps/ 30-45 min for 4k 30... Is unacceptable.

Bigger standard battery is good.

For $1000+ no active stabilization is also unacceptable.

Great review as always. I was wondering how’s the performance as a still camera, especially with that lens. Due to the lack of pocket travel cameras (at least “cheap” ones”) it could be a potential light camera to bring around.

8:00 there is no excuse from Sony for the camera over heating. This is a huge deal breaker. Over heating has been an issue going back at least to the A6500. You think Sony would have addressed this by now, but I guess they are no Canon.

I bought Sony ZV-E10L 4 months ago and i don’t need to change it to ZV-E10 II. Yes battery is better then first gen but i am using 20K Samsung power bank with dummy battery and it’s give me a better performance than W or Z battery. Yes i know it’s heavy but i am using my camera with a rig so it’s not a problem for me and it’s not giving a overheating after taking 2 hours of shooting with it.
