The Apollo 11 moon landing was a historic event that took place on July 20, 1969. It was the culmination of the Apollo program initiated by NASA (the National Aeronautics and Space Administration) with the goal of sending humans to the Moon.

The crew of Apollo 11 consisted of three astronauts: Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. Armstrong and Aldrin were the two astronauts who actually landed on the Moon, while Collins remained in orbit aboard the command module.

The journey to the Moon took about four days. On July 20, Armstrong and Aldrin descended in the Lunar Module, named "Eagle," to the Moon's surface in the region known as the Sea of Tranquility. As Neil Armstrong made his way down the ladder, he famously spoke the words, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," becoming the first person to set foot on the lunar surface.

The mission collected valuable scientific data and samples from the Moon's surface, and the astronauts planted the American flag to symbolize their achievement. They also conducted experiments and took photographs before returning to the Lunar Module. In total, they spent about two and a half hours outside the spacecraft.

After rendezvousing with Collins in the command module, the crew began their journey back to Earth. They splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on July 24, 1969, successfully concluding their mission.

The Apollo 11 moon landing was a significant milestone for space exploration and a testament to human ingenuity and determination. It remains one of the most remarkable achievements in the history of mankind's exploration of outer space.

ONE LITTLE THING— proves that this actually happened on the moon..
The dust on the moon from the rocket blast, is moving in straight lines, instead of swirling, which is what it would do in an atmosphere that had air for the dust to collide with..
This could be duplicated with computer animation today, but it could not be faked back in 1969..
I was sitting on the grassy knoll at the corner of Kendall Avenue, and Ohio River Boulevard with my friend Jet at that red light. We were waiting for muscle cars to get the red light so we can tell them to do a burn out when the light turned green, which they often did for us young kids.. this was a couple hundred feet from my friend Jet’s house. Jet’s dad called us yelling, they’ve just landed on the moon come and see it on television.

The first person to go to the moon was not Armstrong, it was supposed to be this photographer

Cameraman jumped out in space before landing to take this shoot. He never came back .. but before that cameraman dropped the film with camera after he was done with his filming . Due to less gravity (1/6 th of earth gravity pull) it took a while for a camera to reach the surface. While throwing he got back thrust more than escape velocity away from moon, so could not reach the surface. Nonetheless, the camera man did exvellent job. Unfortunately no one knows his name

The audio has been modified and is incorrect. The first words we heard a human speak from the surface of the moon were "Contact Light."
These words were spoken by Lt. Col. Aldrin. Get it right, or your cool work is perceived as a historical re-write.

At best, Michael Collins in the command module my have had an 8mm. To look out on of his windows an see the landing? Impossible.
