2022 Mazda CX-5 Select: Should You Buy This Over A Toyota RAV4 Or Honda CR-V?

Just bought mine today in black. What a great machine. I bought the select as well and could not be happier. Blind spot monitoring, AWD, adaptive cruise control, leather seats, remote start through your phone, heated seats…this thing comes pretty loaded even in this trim.

I have a 2017 CX-5 GT with the premium package and now that I'm going through a mid life crisis and want a truck, my standards are just way too high. This Mazda is just so nice for the cost. Plus it's AWD system runs circles around my wife's 21 Forester

just bought the exact cx5 here at my local dealer for msrp (steal!). i love it so far even though i haven’t been able to drive it much because of the winter storm. would buy again so far!

Mazda: Pros: best interior, good ride quality, low road noise, good base options . Cons: not so good mpg, only 6 speed trans, base needs more hp!
CRV: pros: reliability, ample cargo space, good mpg: Cons: CVT engine, dated interior ( even the new one) and slow infotainment system.
RAV4: Pros: great reliability, more HP, good mpg ( better in hybrid), good cargo space, good awd system, good exterior looks, . Cons: dated interior, options are pricey, road noise and loud engines

Go test drive both, the cx5 is quieter than the rav. I went with the cx5

My advice is to go up to Preferred trim, get that cool moonroof! Got mine yesterday

I don’t want AWD. I don’t need it. I will seldom use it, possibly even never. It is one more thing to go wrong. It lessens MPG. AND worst of all, if you damage a tire and need to replace it you have to at least replace two tires. I am not inviting a debate. I’m just saying Mazda had me sold until I discovered this little show stopper. I can’t believe I am the only customer willing to walk over this.

The CX-5 is not under $30k in fact after the car, taxes etc.. it came to $36k here in Huntsville, AL. They added the fact that the world was going through a chip shortage to our bill

How is the non touch screen safer? It calls for a lot of maneuver instead of a quick touch. It is a stupid idea.

I like the old school look, I am not a fan of everything being in the entailment
The real transmission and not a CVT is a huge selling point.

well my wife currently has a 2016 sport touring and the transmission took a shit at 17k miles. So unless they figured out how to build transmissions yet I wouldn't buy one ever again.
